1. 1914-15 Star - New -

NAME: LIEUT C.TAYLOR. R.IR.REGT

CONDITION: GVF/NEF Condition

REMARKS: Major Charles Taylor Royal Irish Regiment was KIA August 5th or 6th 1917 - On Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. The medal was in a local (British Columbia) trinket collection for over 20 years, and is thus on the international market for the first time.

From the Our Heroes Site:

Major Charles Taylor, Royal Irish Regiment, who was killed in action in France on the 6th August, was the youngest son of Mr. Godfrey Lovelace Taylor, of Grangeville, Fethard, Co. Wexford, and was in his 35th year. Major Taylor had been formerly attached to the 3rd Batt. R.I. Regiment (Wexford Militia), and had served several years in the Royal North-West Mounted and Victoria Police. He returned to this country to join a service battalion of his old regiment shortly after the outbreak of hostilities. He had been at the front two and a half years, and was mentioned in despatches. He leaves a widow and one son. His eldest brother, Fleet-Surgeon Godfrey Taylor, was lost in the disaster to H.M.S. Formidable in January, 1915.

2. 1914-15 Star

NAME: 1478 Reservist Allah Dad, 62nd Punjabis

CONDITION: GVF Condition  

REMARKS: The Regiment served along the Suez and then Mesopotamia during the Great War, seeing considerable action in 1916-1917.

3. British War Medal - New -

NAME: 2155 Sowar  Rala Singh, 33rd QVO Light Cavalry

CONDITION: GVF+Condition  

REMARKS: 3155 Sowar Rala Singh 33rd QVO Light Cavalry  died on 13th April 1915. Not the ‘3’ instead of the ‘2’ - almost certainly the same chap.

4. Victory Medal

NAME: Jemadar Jumma Khan, 19th Lancers

CONDITION: VF+ Condition - polished obverse.

REMARKS: Joined 23rd April 1898, Jemdar 25th January 1915, Served NWF 1908 - Operations in Mohmand Country, Engagement of Matta, 24th April 1908 - Medal with clasp.

REMARKS: -

6. Victory Medal

NAME: 1421 Sepoy Ghulam Mehdi, 127th Baluchis

CONDITION: VF Condition - polished and wear.

REMARKS: The 127th  Baluchis served in Waziristan, East Africa, and South Persia during 1914-1919.

7. 1914-15 Star

NAME: 1488 Sepoy Genu Tukaram, 108th Infantry

CONDITION: GVF Condition on original/old ribbon. Nice medal.

REMARKS: Served in Mesopotamia during the Great War.

NAME: Bn RELAY MEETING 1936 (Un-Named)

CONDITION: NM Medallion, case is in good condition with some wear.

CONDITION: GVF Condition - Some Verdigris.

REMARKS: Filing/re-naming to ‘04’ of regimental number and ‘H’ of Shadi

12. Jemadar Noor Khan, 129th Baluchis - IDSM Winner

NAME: JEMDR  NOOR KHAN, 1-129 BALUCH

CONDITION: VF+ Condition - polished and wear.

REMARKS: In both the 129th Regimental History and the Indian Army Lists, there are 2 Nur Khan officers in the 129th Baluchis. Both made Subadar, and both won IDSMs. Nur Khan I enlisted earlier, and won his IDSM  in France, and was seriously wounded in East Africa. He also left the Indian Army before war’s end. Nur Khan II won the IDSM in East Africa, and stayed on post war.
